Count Negative Numbers in a Sorted Matrix

Given an m x n matrix grid which is sorted in non-increasing order both row-wise and column-wise, return the number of negative numbers in grid.

Follow up: Could you find an O(n + m) solution?

Example 1
 4  3  2 -1
 3  2  1 -1
 1  1 -1 -2
-1 -1 -2 -3
Inputgrid = [[4,3,2,-1],[3,2,1,-1],[1,1,-1,-2],[-1,-1,-2,-3]]
Output8
There are 8 negatives number in the matrix.
Example 2
3 2
1 0
Inputgrid = [[3,2],[1,0]]
Output0
There are no negative numbers in the matrix.

Constraints

  • m == grid.length
  • n == grid[i].length
  • 1 <= m, n <= 100
  • -100 <= grid[i][j] <= 100
