Privacy Policy

Effective September 4, 2026 · DevInterview.AI ("we", "us") · support@devinterview.ai

This policy explains what information DevInterview.AI collects when you use our AI interview practice service, how we use it, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect what the product needs to work, we don't store your voice recordings, we don't train AI models on your interviews, and we never sell your transcripts or code.

1. Information we collect

Account information. When you sign up (directly or with Google), our authentication provider collects your name and email address.

Interview content. Your interview transcripts, code submissions, whiteboard content, and the scores and feedback our system generates are stored with your account. Your voice is processed in real time to transcribe it during interviews — we do not store audio recordings (see section 2).

Onboarding answers. Optional questionnaire answers such as your target company, level, timeline, and how you heard about us.

Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number; we store your subscription status and billing history references.

Usage and device information. Pages visited, features used, and basic device information, collected through analytics cookies.

Advertising attribution. If you arrive from an ad, we store the campaign parameters and click identifiers from the link (for example UTM parameters and a Meta click ID) with your account, and set a first-party attribution cookie that lasts 90 days.

2. Voice and AI processing

Interviews are voice-based. When you start an interview, your audio is streamed and transcribed in real time so the AI interviewer can respond to you. The resulting transcript is stored with your account; we do not keep audio recordings — audio is processed transiently by us and our speech providers to produce the transcript.

Audio and transcripts are processed by third-party speech-to-text and AI model providers acting on our behalf, solely to provide the service. We do not create voiceprints or use your voice to identify you, and we do not use your interviews to train AI models. Our providers process audio and transcripts only to deliver their services to us.

Some practice features offer dictation using your browser's built-in speech recognition, which may send that audio to your browser vendor for processing under its privacy policy.

3. How we use your information

To run your interviews and practice sessions, generate scores and feedback, track your progress, process payments, send service and lifecycle emails, understand how the product is used, measure our advertising, and keep the service secure.

4. Advertising and analytics

We use Mixpanel for product analytics, and the Meta Pixel together with Meta's Conversions API to measure our advertising on Facebook and Instagram. This means third parties, including Meta, use cookies and similar technologies on our site, and we send Meta event data (such as sign-ups and purchases), click identifiers, a hashed (pseudonymized) version of your email address, and technical identifiers such as your IP address and browser information, to match conversions to ads.

You can opt out of interest-based advertising at aboutads.info/choices (or youronlinechoices.eu in Europe), adjust your Meta ad preferences, or email us at support@devinterview.ai and we will exclude your data from advertising measurement.

5. Who we share information with

We share information with service providers that operate the product on our behalf, including authentication, real-time voice infrastructure, speech-to-text and AI model providers, payment processing (Stripe), analytics, hosting, email delivery, and internal operations tooling. We share limited event data with Meta for advertising measurement as described in section 4; Meta may also use that data for its own purposes as described in its privacy policy. We also disclose information if required by law. Links to third-party sites and opt-out tools are governed by those parties' own privacy policies, which we don't control.

We never sell or share your transcripts, code, or interview content. We do not sell personal information for money. However, our use of the advertising and analytics tools described in section 4 may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" of certain identifiers and event data under some U.S. state privacy laws. You can opt out as described in section 4 or by emailing support@devinterview.ai.

6. How long we keep information

We keep your information while your account is active, so your interview history and progress remain available to you. Attribution cookies expire after 90 days. Payment records are retained by Stripe as required for tax and accounting purposes.

7. Deleting your account

When you delete your account, we permanently erase your interview transcripts, remove your name and email, and anonymize the remaining records so they can no longer be linked to you. Anonymized, aggregated records (for example, counts of interviews taken) are retained. Copies may persist in routine encrypted backups for a limited period before being overwritten. To request deletion, email support@devinterview.ai (linked from your account settings).

8. Your choices and rights

You can access and update your account information in your profile, opt out of marketing emails via the unsubscribe link in any of them, opt out of advertising measurement (section 4), and request a copy or deletion of your data at support@devinterview.ai. We respond within the time required by applicable law, typically 30 days. If you live in a U.S. state with a privacy law (such as California), you may have rights to know, correct, and delete your personal information, to opt out of "sales" or "sharing," and to not be discriminated against for exercising them — email us to exercise any of these. We honor requests from all users regardless of location.

9. Children

DevInterview.AI is not directed to children and is only for users 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13; if we learn that we have, we delete it.

10. International users

Our services are hosted in the United States. If you use them from outside the U.S., your information — including interview transcripts — is transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country.

11. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit, access controls, and vendor security reviews. No online service can guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information and will notify you of any breach as required by law.

12. Do Not Track

We do not currently respond to Do Not Track browser signals. The advertising opt-outs in section 4 are the reliable way to limit ad tracking.

13. Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the product evolves; material changes will be reflected in the effective date above and, where appropriate, announced in the product. Questions and privacy requests: support@devinterview.ai.
